LANDSCAPE: RISDA-Bangladesh
RISDA-Bangladesh is a national NGO that was founded in 1993 with the mission of promoting human rights and contributing to the socio-economic development of the disadvantaged, marginalized, and hard-to-reach populations. Since its inception, the organization has successfully initiated and implemented numerous initiatives and programs with the financial and technical assistance of various partners, PKSF, donors, and the government.

RISDA-Bangladesh envisions a just and inclusive world where marginalized and climate-vulnerable people live with dignity, resilience, and sustainable socio-economic opportunities.
Mission of the Organization:
The mission of RISDA-Bangladesh is to work collaboratively with marginalized communities, development partners, the private sector, and government institutions to ensure access to fundamental rights, essential services, skills, and livelihood opportunities. RISDA aims to empower individuals—particularly women, youth, and vulnerable groups—to achieve self-reliance, climate resilience, digital readiness, and improved well-being.

Organizational governance
As per the constitution, 21 members of the RISDA-Bangladesh General Committee hold the highest authority to approve the annual plan and budget, annual report, and the audit report through the Annual General Meeting (AGM). An Executive Committee (EC) comprising 7 members is elected by General Members for a three-year period. The General Secretary works as the chief executive of the organization and is designated as Executive Director
